Legal Administrator/Secretary - Tunbridge Wells

Thomas Mansfield Solicitors Limited is looking for an experienced Legal Administrator/Secretary for their family/private client/employment teams based at their office in central Tunbridge Wells.  The successful candidate will undertake a full range of secretarial and administrative support duties including file management, bundle preparation, archiving, typing and answering the telephone to clients and prospective clients.

The right person for this position will thrive on working in a busy, friendly and supportive environment. This role requires organisation, strong IT and document management skills, fast accurate typing with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible.

Finance Manager - Tunbridge Wells

The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial information to the company.  They will be solely responsible for accounts management, book-keeping, and dealing with the financial administration of client matters.

The role is currently part-time, three days per week, with the opportunity to increase hours as the firm expands.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Regular reconciliation of office and client bank accounts – requiring daily posting to ensure up-to-date information is available company wide.
  • Managing and producing monthly reporting, budgeting and periodic updating forecasts.
  • Preparation of draft statutory accounts.
  • Knowledge of and supervising accounts payable, debt collection and payroll
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Processing payroll journals and staff expenses including administration of pension contributions
  • To follow internal methods, policies and procedures as set.
  • Work as part of a team and undertake reasonable instructions and other ad hoc duties as requested

Skills

This is a hands on job and applicants should have at least 3 years’ experience of book-keeping and account management within a company, preferably legal, with knowledge of SRA accounts policies and be competent at using Excel.

They need to be a methodical worker with strong numerical awareness, able to multi-task and prioritise their workload to meet company deadlines.

Applicants need to show that they can work well under pressure whilst demonstrating a high attention to detail and trustworthiness.

Credit Controller/Purchase Ledger Clerk - Tunbridge Wells

We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years’ experience in credit control.

They will be responsible for chasing all unpaid invoices through every stage up to raising court claims and beyond.

They will be expected to produce statements when required in conjunction with the finance manager so a knowledge of Excel is preferred.

Their role will also be that of purchase ledger clerk.

They will be responsible for the posting of supplier invoices, the correct allocation to nominal accounts, accounting for prepayments and allocating disbursement fee notes.

Although they will be based in Tunbridge Wells, there will also be times when it is necessary to travel to the head office in London. There is also the possibility of working from home for part of the time.
